The elongated cutout form creates a narrow vertical pendant with a continuous oval opening that exposes the inner copper surface. Hung over a counter or small table, the opening directs light downward in a defined path while leaving the outer surface largely in shadow. The copper shows two distinct surface states: a darker, brown-toned upper area and a greened lower section where oxidation has already taken hold. In daily use, the metal continues to darken around the rim of the opening where heat and air move most.
The irregular boundary between tones differs slightly from piece to piece, reflecting small-batch handling in a compact workshop where each pendant is shaped and finished in sequence rather than on a line. Over time, the green areas deepen and spread subtly, especially along edges and recesses.
As with all handmade pieces, each lamp is unique. Subtle variations in texture, finish, and detail are part of its character and reflect the hands that shaped it.
