Hung above a dining table or kitchen island, this wide metal dome spreads low and horizontal, occupying space more like a shallow bowl than a typical pendant shade. The hammered brass surface reflects light unevenly, with soft distortions that shift as you move around the fixture. A darker band gathers along the lower edge of the dome, giving the rim a heavier visual boundary that contrasts with the warmer brass center. When illuminated, the interior throws a single broad wash of light downward across the surface below. The shade itself feels substantial in scale, the metal formed thick enough to hold its shape.
In a small metalworking shop, each dome is handled individually at the bench, and the hammer marks vary slightly from piece to piece as the brass slowly deepens in tone with age.
As with all handmade pieces, each lamp is unique. Subtle variations in texture, finish, and detail are part of its character and reflect the hands that shaped it.
