Its bell form directs most illumination downward while the broad rim blocks glare from eye level. The metal thickness keeps the shade steady on its cord when air moves through a room. Areas handled during wiring and packing appear slightly brighter, and that contrast increases with use as exposed copper slowly changes tone.
These are produced in small workshop batches where each piece is finished individually, so the transition line between brown and green varies from lamp to lamp. Over time, raised sections polish subtly while recessed areas deepen in color.
As with all handmade pieces, each lamp is unique. Subtle variations in texture, finish, and detail are part of its character and reflect the hands that shaped it.
