An elongated copper shade shaped into a suspended oval form opens along one side, exposing the interior metal surface where most of the light is released. When illuminated, the cutout directs a concentrated warm glow outward while the upper shell remains comparatively subdued, emphasizing the contrast between interior reflection and exterior shadow. The surface shows a fully hand-hammered texture, visible as irregular dimples that scatter highlights and prevent harsh glare.

Edge lines and hammer spacing vary slightly across the body, consistent with manual forming rather than machine stamping. Tonal variation is already present in the metal, with darker recesses and lighter raised marks. As the copper ages, exposed areas typically deepen in color while high points brighten through natural handling and cleaning, allowing the finish to evolve rather than remain static.

As with all handmade pieces, each lamp is unique. Subtle variations in texture, finish, and detail are part of its character and reflect the hands that shaped it.
